Douglas DeBord
Douglas J. DeBord, Jr., 78, of Urbandale, Iowa, died Saturday, May 20, 2000,
in his home.
DeBord was born April 25, 1922, in Des Moines, Iowa. He lived in Sioux City
during the early 1950s. He enlisted and served for 25 years in the United
States Army and was a World War II veteran. He had worked at Delavan
Manufacturing in Des Moines. He worked as a nurses� aid at the Veterans of
Foreign Wars Hospital in Des Moines. He married Rose Yudka.
Survivors include: three sons, David DeBord and Gary DeBord, both of Des
Moines, Iowa, and Theodore DeBord of Fremont; a sister, Rozella Bussanmass of
Bevington, Iowa; a brother, Robert DeBord of Urbandale; and five
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Westover Funeral Home in Des
Moines. Visitation will be noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday in the family�s home
in Urbandale. Burial will be at a later date in McDivitt Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established to Hospice of Central Iowa Kavanagh House in
Des Moines.

Rose DeBord
Rose S. DeBord, 74, of Urbandale, Iowa died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at Hospice Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa. Rose Yudka was born Oct. 9, 1925, Sioux City, Iowa. She lived in Sioux City, then in 1950 moved to Des Moines. She moved in 1958 to Urbandale. She was a retail sales clerk at Sears and then later at JC Penney & Co.
Survivors include: her husband, Douglas DeBord, Jr.; three sons, David DeBord and Gary DeBord, both of Des Moines, and Theodore DeBord of Fremont; two sisters, Sophie Wright of Sioux City, Iowa and Jennie Lent of Denver; and five grandchildren. The memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Westover Funeral Home in Des
Moines. Family will receive friends at the family home immediately following the memorial service. A private family graveside service will be held later at McDivitt Grove Cemetery in Urbandale, Iowa. A memorial has been established to Hospice Kavanagh House, 900 56th St., Des Moines.
